M.E. THE CLOWN
| Marie (M. E.) Persson started the clown supplies business after running The Salem Sorcery Circus in Salem MA for her brother-in-law Otto "Professor Offtop" Persson. The store sold craft items made by her and later clown-related items such as costumes and such. The store also sold magic supplies which her husband, Eric "Cheezo" Persson, handled. The store closed in 1977, the year M. E. Persson Clown Supplies mail order was opened at her home in Hamilton, MA. The business has been in Lee, NH; Barrington, NH; and now is a full-fledged store with the new name of Clown Supplies, Inc at the Castles of Brentwood exit 8 off Rte 101 in Brentwood, NH. |
