Well, its time to end an era. The closing for the church is July 9th and we have to be out of the building by mid to end of July. The club will be moving with the church to Lafayette St. The address will be published as soon as I know what it is!
I want to welcome Bruce Lawson on board as our new secretary, beating out votes for T. Recorder, who was going to cost us to become a member(chuckle, chuckle).
Judy came forward and gave us a detailed report from the national convention. We also had a lengthy discussion on why we thought numbers are down at the conventions, and why clowning in general is declining as of late.
The club has voted to have 2(yes 2) field trips on the next couple meeting nights, in August, we will all meet down the Salem Willows our old home) to have dinner, and enjoy the park(arcades, merry go round, mini golf, etc)
We will meet at 6pm for dinner, and then have dessert under one of the gazeboes. Please bring a dessert to share. In September we will meet at the Museum Place Mall here in Salem, for dinner at New York Deli Pizza, and then tour my new business venture "The Nightmare Factory" haunted Attraction, followed by a lights on tour and back stage peek at the runnings of the place. The club will pay the $4 group rate for all members, and non members must pay their own way at $4.There was discussion over some of the clubs items that got water damaged in the flood at the church, and also Cheryl was thanked for all the years she has dome refreshments. She is not sure if she will continue at the new meeting location, so if food is your thing, please think about the refreshments committee. Well, I think this report has gone on too long, so I'll close with a small tear in my eye thinking about all the good times we've had on Federal Street, and look forward to new beginnings at our new home."J"
