Presidents message 10/9/07 - MEETING STARTS AT 7:30PM
Hi Gang,
FIRST OFF, DON'T FORGET WE WILL BE AT OUR NEW HOME AT 296  LAFAYETTE STREET IN SALEM.
I cant believe we are already into October. It seems this year (as well as life) are flying by at high speed.
I have to be honest, I haven't even thought of entertainment for this months meeting. I have been spoiled by our field trips the last few months. I have also been extremely busy with everything happening in my life. SO..... why doesn't everyone that's coming bring something Halloween related to share. A spooky face painting design, balloon, or magic trick. I know that "members nights" don't usually interest some folks, but this is YOUR club, so why not share with other members!!
I hear that Mike "Perky" Palladino will be having some MAJOR surgery on October 3, so keep him in your thoughts.
Its also not too early to be thinking about next years officers. We take nominations next month!
As you may remember, Cheryl has decided that she needs a break from the refreshments job for a while, so this month I will bring dunkin donuts coffee and munchkins to the meeting, if you want more, please bring it! And, if you feel so inclined, sign up to bring refreshments next month!!! See ya next Tuesday!! "J"

Secretary's report 9/11/07 Meeting minutes.

There was no business meeting last month, We met at the Salem Mall, ate and then went to the NIGHTMARE FACTORY.
Alley 54 got a jump start on Halloween with a tour of J's 'Haunted House of Salem" in the Museum Place Mall.  First we had the standard treatment, then we had another walk through with the lights on. It was a delightfully frightful experience.  Most of the effects are human - there is relatively little reliance on technology compared to the other haunted houses we visited a few years ago.  Highlights included the surprise door on the crypt, the talking skeleton, and the laser fog tunnel. Many of the effects used everyday items very cleverly.  A string of Christmas lights inside some irrigation piping was surprisingly spooky.  The actual workshop where Marshall (J's partner in horror) fabricates props was part of the tour and looked very sinister. Your writer is eternally grateful that he was standing beside (and not behind!) Alley Oop when that door on the crypt opened quickly and unexpectedly.  You wouldn't believe how fast and how far that man can jump backwards!  If the Reverse Broad jump were an Olympic event, he would win the gold medal.

Calling all clowns, balloon artists, face painters, performers. "J" is looking for people that might like to do some street performing in Salem Ma for Halloween. The Nightmare Factory (J's new business venture) is in need of folks that would like to work for tips on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (plus the week of Halloween) on Essex Street. You can keep any and all tips you make performing under a tent on the pedestrian walkway in downtown Salem. You will need to try to get people to go into the mall where the haunted attraction in located. Please e-mail jtheclown@verizon.net, or call 978-744-1140 so I can get a schedule together.  NEXT MEETING 10/9/07 - 7:30 - CHURCH AT 296  LAFAYETTE STREET IN SALEM.
